Good Shepherd Church     .     700 Spring St.     .      Lancaster, OH     .      740-654-4049
Good Shepherd Church is a non-denominational, Bible based,
Spirit lead church. It’s roots go back to Good Shepherd Chapel
at 1017 South Broad Street, Lancaster, Ohio, when Pastor
Michael G. Dexter was elected Senior Pastor in 1991. The
church name was changed to Good Shepherd Church and
incorporated on May 17, 1996.  Pastor Michael G. Dexter had a
vision for a church to be built for the forwarding of God’s
kingdom.  On November 7, 2002 we saw the ground breaking
at 700 Spring Street and the beginning of the vision coming to
life. The church was completed and dedicated on July 13, 2003.

In God’s infinite wisdom and reasoning, he decided to take
home his servant, Pastor Michael G. Dexter on April 3, 2003.
But God always prepares His people and on April 13, 2003
James L. Dexter became the Senior Pastor of Good Shepherd
Church; having been called by God to go into the ministry; he
was ordained on June 23, 2002. James had been the Youth
Pastor and Choir Director at Good Shepherd Church for 11
years previous to his election.

God has blessed this body of believers and there has been
growth in numbers and, more important, a spiritual growth.
This has brought about a deeper and closer walk with God.
God’s people have experienced healing, growth in dedication
to God’s work, growth in ministries, and a more loving walk
with one another as a family.

The church in an independent church governed by its by-laws,
articles of faith, policies, and guidelines based on I Timothy 3.
Its structure is: The Father, The Son, The Holy Ghost – The
Pastor – The Church Board – The Congregation.
